Is this appropriate or not? Female reporters were flipping out. I’d lean toward no. Wait til after the segment and ask.

Not sure about "appropriate" but it looks uncomfortable for the woman on screen left. Granted he's a reporter, but if genuine interaction wasn't allowed due to being overly politically correct (which is how the modern western world has been moving towards for the last decade) and you extrapolate that behaviour into the future, our society becomes too 'nannied' and soft.

This is, in my opinion, completely independent to being a creep which I don't encourage, but I think that not allowing reporters to have some personality and be human will result in an increasingly socially sterile world.

@butfirsttea I'd lean toward it being cringey, but harmless.
She's being flirty. So wait til the segment is over and ask for her number so you know she's giving it to you because she wants to and not because she doesn't want to be on YouTube, Twitter, and wherever turning him down.

Though that'd be pretty funny.

Looking at the clip I don't think there is much to it if I'm honest. People making this out to be a bigger thing then it is. She could have pretended to put the number in or type a message if she wasn't comfortable saying no to him - though I can understand the pressure from being on camera doesn't help.

If we are going to stop reporters from being themselves and policing everything they say what is the point of watching them? I do think he should have waited til the camera wasn't on them to ask but its really harmless over all.

I guess I normally look at things if it was the other way around would I still feel the same way.
