Thunder vs Timberwolves Game 4 Recap

The Thunder suffered a 42-point loss in Game 3, marking their worst loss of the season. It was reasonable to wonder how the group would respond. As it turned out, the league’s top team bounced back with a 128-126 victory and is just one win away from its first Finals appearance since 2012.

OKC received huge performances from multiple players. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded the offense with a game-high 40 points, along with 10 assists and nine rebounds.

Jalen Williams scored 34 points, handed out five assists, and connected on six of his eight attempts from beyond the arc. Chet Holmgren was a force at both ends of the floor. He had 21 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Meanwhile, Nickeil Alexander-Walker was one of five players who reached double figures for Minnesota. He led the way with 23 points and six assists off the bench.

Jaden McDaniels added 22 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field, and Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with 21 points, including five 3-pointers.

Although OKC held a seven-point edge at the break, the game came down to the final possession. Leading by three points with 6.1 seconds left, the Thunder purposely fouled Anthony Edwards.

He intentionally missed the second free throw. However, Minnesota had one last chance after Gilgeous-Alexander flung the ball out of bounds in an attempt to run out the game clock. Fortunately, Williams intercepted the inbounds , thus securing the win for the road team.

  • The Thunder are 6-2 straight-up (SU) in their last eight games against Northwest Division opponents.
  • OKC is 4-9 against the spread in its previous 13 outings.
  • The Timberwolves are 12-5 overall in their last 17 contests.
