Event Preview
The 14th race of the regular season is set for Nashville this weekend, as the Cracker Barrel 400 will be staged in Tennessee. This weekend’s race will cover a total of 400 miles on the concrete surface, with the race distance being made up of 300 laps. The important final stage will see the final 115 laps contested.
There has been a wide-open feel to the NASCAR season this term, and the race for a playoff spot in the Drivers’ standings was blown wide open last weekend. Ross Chastain was the shock winner of the Coca-Cola 600, and the victory moved the driver into the top ten in the standings.
It was a weekend when the leading contenders all failed to fire. Kyle Larson could only finish 37th after attempting double duty, but his Indy 500 bid ended in disappointment after crashing out after the half-distance point.
William Byron moved back to the top of the standings after finishing second last weekend. That result means that he has now finished on the podium in three of the last six races.
Christopher Bell’s consistent form this season was also maintained last weekend, as the driver built on his All-Star Race win by taking eighth. That finish means that he has now finished in the top ten in all but one of the last seven regular season races.
Cracker Barrel 400 Picks
A competitive betting heat is set for this weekend, and cases can be made for many of the drivers. However, Ryan Blaney could be a contender who is going under the radar.
Blaney has finished third in two of the last three races, and he has achieved top five finishes in four of the last six.
