  • The Golden State Valkyries dropped to 2-5 following their fourth straight defeat.
  • The Las Vegas Aces are 4-2 and have the third-best record in the Western Conference.
  • These teams have never faced each other, as this is Golden State’s inaugural season.

One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Golden State Valkyries hosting the Las Vegas Aces. Can Golden State pull off the upset in our Valkyries vs Aces pick?

Golden State Looks To Snap Four-Game Slide

The Valkyries have cooled off since a 2-1 start, dropping four straight games. Their latest setback includes an 86-77 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday.

Veronica Burton was one of five players who recorded a double-digit scoring total, finishing with 16 points. She did most of her damage from the charity stripe, converting nine of her 11 attempts.

Temi Fagbenle added 12 points and 11 boards, while Kayla Thornton and Cecilia Zandalasini contributed 10 points each. Phoenix trailed 76-68 in the final frame but closed the game with an 18-1 run en route to a nine-point victory.

Las Vegas Aiming For Its Third Straight Win

Meanwhile, the Aces come into this matchup riding a two-game win streak, which includes a 75-70 victory against the Seattle Storm on Jun. 1.

A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young spearheaded the Aces’ offense. Wilson finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Young scored 12 points and collected four rebounds.

Seattle, which trailed by 14 points going into the fourth quarter, trimmed the deficit to three points. However, Las Vegas made enough plays down the stretch to hold on for a five-point victory.

Valkyries vs Aces WNBA Pick

Golden State has the second-worst offense in the association and ranks ninth in defensive efficiency. This isn’t too much of a shock, given it’s the team’s first year in the league.

On the other side, the Aces lead the field in scoring (86.4 PPG) and are ranked sixth in scoring defense. Based on the numbers, Las Vegas comes out on top and by a significant margin.
