  • The Dallas Wings have dropped five of their first six games.
  • The Chicago Sky enter this matchup with only one win across their first five contests.
  • These squads last played on May 29, with the Sky claiming a 97-92 victory.

One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Dallas Wings hosting the Chicago Sky. Will Dallas salvage the back end of this home-and-home split in our Wings vs Sky pick?

Wings vs Sky Preview

The Wings snapped a four-game losing streak with a 22-point win against the Connecticut Sun. Unfortunately, they followed that up with a five-point loss against the Sky two nights later.

Arike Ogunbowale was a matchup nightmare for Chicago’s defense. She scored a game-high 37 points, handed out seven assists, and collected five rebounds.

She also shot 56 percent from the field and converted six of her 12 attempts from beyond the arc. DiJonai Carrington and Paige Bueckers finished with 15 points each.

On the other side, Kamilla Cardoso was the leading scorer for Chicago. She put up 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds while shooting 9-for-13 shooting from the floor.

Ariel Atkins finished with 17 points and six assists, while Courtney Vandersloot rounded out the double-digit effort from the starting five with 13 points, nine assists, and five steals.

Dallas trailed by double-digits after the opening quarter, but took a five-point lead into the final frame. Chicago cut the deficit to one point and went ahead for good when Angel Reese scored a bucket inside with 1:21 left to play.

Wings vs Sky Pick: Can Dallas Snap A Four-Game Skid Against Chicago?

Chicago does not excel at either end of the floor, ranking 11th in offensive efficiency and has the worst defensive rating in the association.

Like the Sky, Dallas struggles from a defensive standpoint as well, but they have the fourth-highest scoring average in the league.

Chicago has won the last four matchups between these franchises, and given how poorly Dallas has played this season, that trend will continue when these teams take the court on Saturday night.
